A new community where we spark positive energy and meaningful action by empowering each other to go for what we unapologetically want, so we can realize our life's most meaningful high-five moments.
I’d like you to take a moment with me and imagine.I want you to remember that feeling you get, that familiar rush we all know, when you witness something or experience a conversation—the kind that makes your heart beat faster, sends chills down your spine, and sets lightbulbs off in your head—because you know in your bones that it’sjust the thing you need to implement to better yourself, your team, or your business.
Maybe it was an impassioned discussion in one of your growth groups, or a keynote from your favorite entrepreneur at a retreat. Emotional catalysts aside, you know the sensation I’m talking about... When you’re bursting with energy, ideas, and a renewed sense of purpose. You’re excited! You feel CONNECTED. You know exactly the things you need to do to get to the next level. I recently left a conference, my head spinning (the good way), and I thought to myself:“Can you imagine if we felt like this all the time?”
The resources that exist today either within or within reach of our parent organization to help us grow our practices are wonderful. But I’ve often found—and I know I’m not alone—that some can feel like way too much in one sitting, while others are too high-level to have a real impact. Generally, there’s a lot of talking at us, with little room for talking among us. And then there are some that are just right, but they only happen once. And then work happens. And then life happens. And then despite our best efforts and intentions, the inspiration fizzles...the sparks fade...and we’re lucky if our notes made it onto one of our many to-do lists.
I’ve been in this business for almost twenty years and I’ve trained with the greats. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside many talented practitioners and thought leaders, and together we’ve shared our struggles and successes as well as our stories and solutions. With my business partner, Jen, and our women-led team, I’ve developed many systems and tools—the kinds I credit for having gotten me to where I am today in my career. I’m the acting CEO of my practice (having recently stepped away from the advisor role), and while my business goals are more ambitious than ever, I have more time to dig deeper into the other areas of my life that bring me joy. There’s so much of my journey you don’t see from just looking at the GDC board.I know the same is true for you.
Of the knowledge I’ve accumulated over the last two decades, I’ve also learned about myself and the things that I want—unapologetically—to feel as fulfilled as possible in this profession. I believe there are infinite ways to innovate and improve our industry and how we experience it, and I see an opportunity where we can really help each other. I want to create an environment where we’re supported in ways that we aren’t really supported right now (ways we maybe don’t even realize).
My vision is one of consistent conversation and collaboration among like-valued people within our organization who get stuff done and have a blast while doing it. The result? No more great ideas without a path to get them into gear at your company. No more leaving a conference with a long list of things to do (that you never actually do). No more of the never-ending grind (it’s a FARCE!) of always ‘managing’ your business, while self-negotiating against the things you want the most to have the practice and LIFE of your dreams.
